Tweaking the Appraisal System

We all know there’s plenty of blame to go around in regard to the state of the real estate market, and appraisers certainly have taken their fair share of it.  In response, there are changes being made to the code that appraisers follow when they’re doing their thing.

According to Mize’s latest column, these changes will go into effect May 1st, and I’m sure more than a few people would like to see it happen even sooner.  Just another step in the right direction to correcting the ails of the real estate business, indeed, but I tend to go with the simpler ideas, and Richard nailed it best with his last sentence:

“Put honest people back in charge, is what I’m saying.”
