This is a question we get a lot, whether it be about countertops or some other part of a home. The truth is, there’s not a one-size-fits-all answer to this question, because several factors go into determining if it’s right for you, such as age & location of your home, comp sales in your area, how much you owe on your home, etc.
Many times upgraded countertops can be beneficial because, as you’ve probably heard, kitchens and bathrooms sell homes, and beautiful countertops are one of the most important elements to “a WOW kitchen.”
We’re always happy to do an overall evaluation though, to determine what’s best for your unique scenario.
If it turns out that new countertops are a good move for you, we’ve been offered a discounted price for installation of granite countertops in any of our clients’ homes! Just get in touch with us, and we’ll get you started.

Ryan, I just want to add that sometimes a homeowner will impulsively choose an one expensive item- an ugly item that is too expensive for the next homeowner to change. I have seen some ugly granite and flooring combinations. If you do choose to install granite countertops, be sure to get a professional designer's opinion. It is much harder to change that design mistake than a bad pain color on the walls.
Great point, Lori. Getting a neutral party's opinion is always a great idea!
