One of the first restaurants I experienced when I moved to OKC was Republic Gastropub. Located on Classen Curve, the decor alone makes this a place worth visiting. And if the decor doesn’t make you want to stay for more, I guarantee the beer selection will. There are tons of ales, lagers and ciders…not to mention a selection of flights for those, like me, who want to try a little of everything!
The food prices are slightly higher than some of the other restaurants I’ve encountered on my food journey through OKC, but you have my word that they are well worth it. The tuna tartar appetizer (which I often have as my main course) is one of the most amazing dishes I have had anywhere. It’s located under the “Snacks” portion of the menu, but with large pieces of tuna tartar, served over avocado slices and a soy vinaigrette sauce and a side of chips it is SO much more than a snack. Another highlight of Republic is their eclectic selection of gourmet burgers, which are all served on their homemade pretzel buns! If all this isn’t enough to steer you towards Republic, just ask @ShowMeOKCdawn about the ultra-modern decor of the bathrooms…she was totally amazed!
