I guess it’s normal to sometimes second-guess ourselves, which is why I occasionally wonder if my sunny opinion of our state is clouded or biased.
Then I read things like this great USAtoday.com article about the growth of Oklahoma City and it’s suburbs.
Newcomers are being lured by the state’s relatively strong economy, he says. College graduates are staying and arriving to work in the oil and gas business, aerospace and other industries.
The state’s unemployment rate in December was 6.6%, far below the national average. It’s even lower in the Oklahoma City area, thanks to government and university jobs.
It’s not just my imagination that people are migrating here from other areas of the country, and they wouldn’t be doing that if we didn’t have so many great things going for us. Keep up the great work fellow Okies!
