OKC Ranked in Top 25 Best-Performing Cities Index

Need more assurance that the Oklahoma City metro is headed in the right direction?

The 2010 Milken Institute Best-Performing Cities Index ranks U.S. metropolitan areas by how well they are creating and sustaining jobs and economic growth. The components include job, wage and salary, and technology growth. In most years, these give a good indication of the underlying structural performance of regional economics.

This year, Oklahoma City is ranked #21, improved from our 2009 rating of 26. Some of the data used ranks us in the Top 50 in the three categories of 5-yr job growth, 1-yr job growth, and 5-yr wages/salaries growth.
